How do you fit equipment in the plant room that is larger than the room’s original design?


How do you install steelwork on concrete that is more than 80mm out of level, when the framework has to be lifted inside the rooms?

How can you level a steel frame with ten tonnes of emissions and silencer equipment when it’s over 4m in the air?
Can you also achieve a noise limit of 63dba?

And finally, reduce the possibility of heat damaging the equipment in the room.How do you make all these requirements happen?

Get ML to design and manufacture a custom build structural steelwork frame with four fully adjustable support legs, each with +- 100mm of adjustment, while being able to lift ten tonnes!


Design the silencer and SCR housing to be class leading.


Manufacture the equipment with materials that will allow minimal heat and noise breakout.

ML worked with the client to design and manufacture a functional high performance SCR and silencer manufactured to minimise the noise and heat breakout in the room, but still be ultra efficient in NOx reduction and noise reduction at the exhaust outlet.

The solution, build and assemble the full frame, working within the UK transport laws, that allows the site to install the framework before the generators are installed, but allows the framework to be lifted and levelled, due to the site’s existing infrastructure.


Design and build a bespoke silencer working with the emission reduction system allowing for minimal pressure drop, but maximum performance, normally these do not come hand in hand.
